KLS Martin delivers their 500th Lithoz LCM-printed bioceramic implant by end of Q3 2026 via their surgeon-facing order platform IPS Gate®

  • German surgical innovator KLS Martin now offers implants made from LithaBone TCP (Tricalcium Phosphate) as an official product on their web-based IPS (Individual Patient Solutions) Gate® platform
  • With the integration of patient-specific TCP implants into their IPS Gate® workflow, KLS Martin is about to hit the milestone of 500 delivered ceramic implants in Q3 and expects continued growth in clinical adoption
  • Alongside their patient-individual TCP implants, KLS Martin’s proprietary SonicWeld Rx® allows the use of resorbable polymer pins – creating full-circle resorbability treatment option
  • The acceleration is firmly backed by numerous clinical studies published during the 12 year-long collaboration between KLS Martin and Lithoz, proving the safety and efficacy of 3D-printed ceramic bone replacement solutions.

16.09.2026: Vienna, Austria & Tuttlingen, Germany. IPS Gate®, KLS Martin’s web-based platform for planning, ordering, and delivering its Individual Patient Solutions (IPS®) now offers patient-specific 3D-printed implants made with Lithoz’s calcium phosphate material LithaBone TCP as a widely available product. The broader availability of patient-specific TCP implants through IPS Gate® is accelerating clinical adoption and positions KLS Martin to reach the significant milestone of 500 delivered individual implants by the end of Q3 2026.

KLS Martin’s global IPS® surgical hub for clinicians is an efficient case-planning app for custom-made implants that are made from various materials using state-of-the-art technologies. For the LithaBone TCP implants, KLS Martin is leveraging its Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM) printers – trusting in the reliability of Lithoz’s ecosystem, which is operating under an ISO 13485 certified quality management system. LCM enables patient- and case-specific geometries as well as tailored porosities, that influence the degradation of the scaffolds and their replacement by newly formed, vital bone. In addition toclassical fixation via titanium screws, fixation can be achieved via KLS Martin’s proprietary SonicWeld Rx® system using resorbable polymer pins – creating an all-around resorbable implant unit that eliminates the need for a second surgery.

Frank Reinauer, Senior Director Division Implant, KLS Martin: “Individual-Patient-Specific (IPS®) ß-TCP status on IPS Gate® means a broad availability; surgeons can plan, specify, and order a patient-specific bioceramic implant through the same digital workflow they already use for our other IPS® solutions. That shortens the path from CT data to a case-specific, tailored-porosity scaffold in a surgeon’s hands, which translates directly into faster treatment planning and more predictable delivery timelines for patients that rely on bone-regenerating implants.”

Johannes Homa, Lithoz CEO: „Launching LithaBone TCP implants as  an official product on IPS Gate® marks a true milestone for bioceramic 3D printing in surgery. What began 12 years ago as a research collaboration with KLS Martin has grown into a proven clinical pathway with scalable solutions. Seeing the success KLS Martin is having with our technology, as well as the general global adaptation of LCM in MedTech, shows that resorbable, additively manufactured bone-regenerating solutions are gaining broader clinical acceptance worldwide and demonstrate the growing role of additively manufactured bioceramic solutions in regenerative medicine.“
