Aluminium oxide is the all-rounder of technical ceramics: hard, corrosion- and temperature-resistant, and electrically insulating. With four slurries, including high-purity alumina, our different alumina variants offer versatile applications - from high-resolution microstructures to wall thicknesses of up to 14 mm.
Our material portfolio encompasses a broad range of high-performance ceramics for applications in industry, medicine, and dental technology. Alumina is the most versatile material class available for the LCM process (Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing). For the additive manufacturing of alumina we offer four material variants with different focuses: the proven all-rounder LithaLox 350, LithaLox 360 for even more ultra-fine channels and bores, LithaLox HP 511 with a high purity of 99.99%, and LithaBite AO 250 for the production of durable translucent orthodontic brackets. In addition to alumina, our portfolio includes zirconia (LithaCon), composite ceramics (ATZ or ZTA), silicon nitride (LithaNit), silica-based ceramics (LithaCore), aluminum nitride (LithaFlux) and calcium phosphates (LithaBone). In addition, Lithoz is also continuously launching new ceramics such as yttria (LithaYtt) or piezo ceramics for specialized 3D-printed ceramic applications.
Yes. Components printed using the LCM process achieve the material properties of conventionally manufactured high-performance ceramics. Our slurries exceed the high quality standards required for industrial, medical, and dental applications. After printing, the 3D-printed green parts are fully debinded and then densely sintered, just as in traditional processes. This results in pure alumina: LithaLox 350 with a purity of 99.8%, achieves a relative density of 98.4% and a 4-point flexural strength of 400 MPa LithaLox HP 511 offers a purity of 99.99%, a relative density of 99.4%, and a 3-point flexural strength of 450 MPa, combined with an exceptionally smooth surface roughness of 0.4 µm.
Yes. All serially produced Lithoz materials for ceramic additive manufacturing are produced in a cleanroom environment under a quality management system certified according to ISO 13485 and ISO 9001:2015. For our CeraFab S65 Medical 3D printer, which was specifically adapted to medical and dental applications, we produce alumina LithaLox 350 and LithaLox 360, as well as LithaBone TCP 300 (tricalcium phosphate), LithaBone HA 480 (hydroxy apatite) LithaCon 3Y 210 (zirconia) and LithaCon ATZ 980 (alumina-toughened zirconia) in medical grade quality for medical applications.
Yes. Unlike conventional ceramics, LCM technology enables the production of much more complex geometries with equally homogeneous material quality and durability. LithaLox 360 for instance, is an optimized alumina for designing high-resolution features such as channels with diameters of less than 200 µm and bridges of thinner than 100 µm. At the other end of the spectrum, LithaCon ATZ 980 enables wall thicknesses of up to 20 mm at a flexural strength of 750 MPa.
